Shaping The Future

As we hurtle towards the New Year, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and engagement throughout the last year.

If you read our email from last week, you know it was a long one.

But that's because we accomplished a lot!

We faced challenges together.

We celebrated victories together.

We initiated conversations and helped shift the window of what is politically possible.

We showed resilience.

Looking ahead to 2024, Project Confederation remains steadfast in our dedication to achieving our mission.

That means to push for a better deal for Western Canada in whatever legal configuration that ultimately requires.

We believe an important step towards achieving this better deal would be the holding of a constitutional convention where western provinces can at least make their case for the changes required to make Canada fair.

We also believe that western Canadians should be respected as partners in confederation - not treated as doormats.

To that end, here are our key commitments for 2024:

Back by popular demand will be more Alberta Pension Plan town hall events, which we are hoping to schedule for mid-January. We are also hoping, as long as our fundraising drive is a success, to do another Pension Plan town hall tour in February.

In our town halls, we will continue to foster open and transparent conversations about the potential creation of an Alberta Pension Plan. Your questions, concerns, and insights are invaluable, and we are committed to ensuring that your voice is heard as we navigate through this significant initiative.

Our focus on economic prosperity for all Canadians will continue to drive our initiatives throughout the year. From addressing challenges caused by ideological federal restrictions on our vaunted energy industry, we will continue to push our campaigns against policies such as the Just Transition, the unconstitutional net-zero 2035 electricity regulations, the Impact Assessment Act, the carbon tax and, undoubtedly, launch more campaigns fighting more federal policies.

The fight for provincial autonomy within Confederation will remain at the forefront of our efforts - whether that means challenging unconstitutional federal laws, advocating  for fair treatment, or addressing economic imbalances.

Project Confederation is committed to being a tireless advocate for jurisdictional respect for all provinces.

We will continue to push for the acknowledgement of western Canada’s expressed desires and work towards aligning federal policies with the democratic will of the provinces.

We are also committed to fostering even more community engagements - whether it be through town halls, launching new campaigns, and actively seeking your input on the issues that matter most to you and your community.

As we navigate 2024, Project Confederation stands side-by-side with you, our supporters.

Together, we will continue to build a movement that honours our values, protects our interests, and secures the prosperity of our country in the long-term.

That means permanent changes to the way this country is governed, that ensures that governments stay within their constitutional lanes.

But to do that, we need your help.

Can you contribute $10, $25, $50, or even $100 to help us achieve even more next year?

We couldn’t do any of this without your support.

Help us make 2024 an evolutionary year in our organizational development, continuing on our trajectory to ensure that all of Canada’s unique regions, each with distinct needs, are given the respect by the federal government as granted in the Constitution.

Thank you for your help so far.

Here’s to another year of shared accomplishments, meaningful conversations, and continued support of a strong Canada that recognizes the uniqueness of the various regions that make up our national tapestry.

Regards,

Josh Andrus
